Toyota has launched it’s new model starting with Rs. 13.84 lakh to compete with big names like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, and Renault Lodgy.
The all-new Toyota Innova Crysta was launched in the country today at Rs. 13.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, the Innova Crysta’s price goes all the way up to 20.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Available in four grades with manual transmission (Zx, Vx, Gx & G) and in two grades with an automatic transmission (Zx & Gx), deliveries for the new Innova Crysta will begin from 13 May, 2016.
The Innova Crysta borrows design elements from the Toyota Corolla Altis and Camry with major changes received mostly at the front. The MPV sports a larger nose, a frameless front grille with two chrome slats, projector head-lamps with LED daytime running lamps, all-new fog lamps, and a new bumper. In our Toyota Innova Crysta review, we had mentioned that the MPV does receive a handful of changes on the side and rear profile though the new model largely retains its predecessor’s silhouette.
Inside, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT Multi Information Display, 7-inch touchscreen system with DVD player, dedicated AC vents for the second and third row, and 20 bottle holders, etc. For safety, Toyota Innova Crysta gets three airbags (front driver, front passenger, and driver knee) and ABS with EBD as a standard provision across all trims. Interestingly, the top-end variant gets 7 airbags: driver, front passenger, driver knee, front side and curtain shield airbags.
As displayed during the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year, the sits on a larger frame than its predecessor. Along with enhanced dimensions, the MPV also gets a redesigned hexagonal grille on the front facia that is flanked by new cat eye-shaped projector headlamps. The side profile of the Crysta remains pretty mundane but the rear, more or less, makes up for it with the all-new tail lamps.
