India’s 1st linear park is now open in Pal

India’s 1st Linear park to match the standard of foreign countries is open for all in Surat at Pal.  The Linear park is expected to become an ideal choice for thousands of residents in Pal and Adajan for walking, jogging and cycling.

The first phase of the linear park from galaxy circle to Pal lake is been ready to use and it is made open for all to use today on Sunday.

This scenic walkway, been developed in two phases, boasts of a separate children play area, landscaping and horticulture, jogging and cycling tracks. The first phase of the park starts from Galaxy Circle to Pal Lake and the other one from Pal Lake to Palanpur canal. The SMC has also taken up the work of beautification of Pal Lake at a cost of Rs 3.55 crore. The lake is  developed on the theme of ‘celebrating water’.

There are attractions of tiny mountains and state-of-the-art sculptors in the parks. Each park is 750 meter long and will be a cool retreat for the residents from nearby bustling streets. The total length of both the parks is around 1.5 km.

There is a wide road on both sides of the parks for vehicular traffic. The children play area will have a specialized rubber-mat flooring, which will be used for the first time in the city.
